Day 10: 9th August

Final day of my trip...

Woke up at 4 45 AM, did not even had a shower because I did not wake up my roommates. So I took my camera and headed to Charles Bridge to shoot some sunrise shots.

At nearly 5 15 AM I was there with my camera and tripod.

Some shots I took during that morning

Since it was 6 30 AM when I finished shooting I took a walk to the castle and went to the Monastery of Prague for a walk, it was 7 AM when I reached the monastery, then I went buy a cola and went down, it started to rain so I decided to come back to the hostel to have a shower first, breakfast and finish packing my stuff.

Monastery of Prague

After all of that it was nearly 9 30 AM, I gave back the key and got back my deposit. I went out for a walk to Namesti Republikyi and Na Prikope. I went back to exchange office at 10 AM to change back my 800 Czech Crowns into 30 €. Then I talked to the staff of the hostel to say goodbye and by 10 30 I took the lugagge and went to Starometska subway station to reach Nadrazi Veleslavin to take bus 119 to the airport, I arrived there at 11 30 AM, so I had two hours until the plane left. I went in the security gates and went to a mexican for lunch and asked for a spicy burrito with nachos. At 13 35 I boarded the plane and finished my trip to Prague, Cesky Krumlov and Budapest. 16 PM was the time of arrival, I took subway number 9 to Sants with exchange of lines in Collblanc (Line 5) and I could barely buy the AVANT train ticket to Girona, at 18 15 I arrived Girona ending this whole amazing trip.

Day 9: 8th August

I woke up quite late like at 9 30 because I needed some rest because of the previous night, at the time I woke up my room partner Sam from the US was packing his stuff to go to Budapest.

I had a shower and I just went outside without having breakfast.

I headed to Petrin Tower which was in a hill in Mala Strava area, before going there I went to the narrowest street of Prague but it was closed , it was 10 15 and it was opened from 11 30 so I decided first to go to Petrin tower, it was a long tiring journey uphill.

I arrived at the top of the hill at around 11 AM and went straight to climb the tower and take some pictures, the entrance cost me 150 czech crowns, but the views were worth.

Some shots of and from Petrin tower

Once I finished visitng the tower I went to the mirror maze which was next to it, 90 Czech Crowns, not really cool place because it was a very fast visit but it was ok to take some funny and weird pictures.

Once finished all the stuff I went back to the narrowest street to take a picture, I arrived around 12 15 PM.

Finally it was open!!!

Narrowest street

After that I came back to the hostel through the Jewish quarter and came across a statue of Kafka.

Then I reached the hostel, had lunch in the vegetarian and went to rest for a while because I was tired.
After resting for a while I went to Namesti Republikyi area and I bought a pair of sneakers and something to drink in the Palladium mall. Then I headed back to hostel to pack the lugagge again.

Once done, I went to Namesti Miru station from Starometska  to see the deepest station and longest escalator in Europe (53 m). A bit freak but was fun haha

The longest escalator in Europe

From Namesti Miru I went backwards with subway to Museum station and went down all the boulevard of Wenceslao Square and turned right to Na Prikope avenue and found a place where you could buy a brick and paint it, all the money they got was for humanitarian benefits, I took one for 180 czech crowns and painted the Catalonia flag and placed the brick somewhere in the wall.

It was nearly 7 PM so I decided to go dinner in a restaurant called Lokal close to my hostel. It was so crowded. I ordered fried cheese Smažený sýr with tartar sauce and boiled potatos on the side, beer and a dessert made with cream for 300 czech corona, very very cheap and tasty, specially the cheese was delicious.

Finally after the pictures I went back home and went to rest since next morning I wanted to wake up early to take sunrise shots.

Day 8: 7th August

I woke up early and went to walk around the town to take some pictures because at that time there were few people. At around 7 AM I was already taking pictures of Vltava river with my camera.

Some pics I took during early morning

After that at around 8 AM I went to have breakfast to a place called Kollectiv, I ordered a lemon ginger drink and a delicious blueberry cheesecake. It was so delicious.

Once I finished breakfast I came back to hostel to check out, I left my camera inside the locker because I was going to do some kayak alone.

I picked a tour from near town square of 45 min for 350 czech crowns to see the river, I rode the kayak from 10 AM to 11 15 because I got passed my arrival point and I had to call them to pick me up in another place.

I arrived back town around 12 00.

I went to book a table in a restaurant which is always fully booked named Krcma v Satlavske Ulici

I had one spare hour to walk around the town so I went to the monastery and went to the Brewery behind it named Eggenberg to have a beer.

Monastery

After drinking my beer I came back to the restaurant I booked and ordered my food, an onion soup with cheese and a mixture of grilled chicken, beef and pork. The food was good but the service poor, the soup came fast but I had to wait nearly 30 min between starter and main, I wanted to order dessert but nobody came so it was already 14 15. I stood up and went to pay 389 Czech Crowns, around 15 € for this meal, was good but the service so poor.

It was so late and my bus to Prague would depart at 3 PM so I went back to the hostel, took my luggage and headed to the bus station to come back to Prague. The bus of the Student Agency was comfortable and cheap, with also sockets and free wifi. After 3 hours I arrived Na Knizeci bust station which was on the other side of Prague, I took a subway in Andel station (yellow line) to Mustek and went walking from there to the hostel. At the time of checking in again was around 7 PM, I went to the room packed my stuff and went down to have a dinner in the vegetarian restaurant.

After dinner I met some guys in the hostel for the Pub Crawl and I joined a group of UK people, the Pub Crawl costed us 500 Czech crowns. It started in Celetna 12 to get the wristbands and then we went to 3 pubs, in the first one we had free beers and shots for 1 hour and the 2nd and 3d one we had a welcome shot. Lastly we went to a club with 5 floors called Karlovy Lazne until it was around 2 AM, time to go to bed, the night was so fun with all the English guys, haha.

Day 7: 6th August

Woke up early around 6 30 to have a shower, have breakfast and pack my things because I had to check out. Once I checked out I took my lugagge and went walking to the main station, I arrived at around 8 AM. At 8 25 the bus departed to Cesky Krumlov, it was a nice ride, with full AC, Wifi and sockets to charge the phone. The ride took nearly 2 h 30 min.

Once I arrived I could see a nice view of the castle on my way to the hostel.

I headed to my hostel called Krumlov house which was just 10 min from the bus station and left the luggage there until check in time. I went for a walk to the town and I first took some pictures of the castle again from another spot and visited the town square.

After that I headed to the castle and the gardens, I purchased a ticket for 13 20, since it was still 12 15 I went to the gardens and around the exterior part of the castle to take pictures.

After lunch I went to eat lunch in a restaurant called U Dwau Mary, there I drank a garlic soup - since I got wet because it rained a lot - and had smoked meat as main. It was ok, around 200 Czech crowns.

After lunch I went to the Monastery, but it started to downpour so I had to wait for a while. Once it stopped I took some pictures of the Monastery and the town and I went back to the hostel at around 4 PM.

 Around the monastery area

Once at the hostel I checked in, paid and had a shower because I was soaked of water. Then I took a rest for a while, until half past six. I booked a bus ticket for the next day with my cell phone, it costed me around 8 € with the Student Agency company, I booked the one for 3 PM

After I woke up I went for a walk because the rain had already stopped and walked around the town.
At around 8 I went to dinner into a meat restaurant called Mastal which was next to the information center. It is a restaurant for meat lovers. I ordered a liver soup and a 300 gr steak which was so juicy. I really enjoyed this meal, I'd come again.

The meal cost me 535 Czech crowns, it was ok considering the meat was great quality, no complains although it was the most expensive meal in my whole trip.

After dinner I went back to the hostel at around 9 30 PM and went to bed since the town was quiet and the hostel too.

Day 6: 5th August

I woke up early and had a shower, some cereals and a free sandwich that the hostel gives for every guest.

After breakfast I decided to go to Charles Bridge and the Jewish Quarter for a walk because the tour to Kutna Hora started at 11 AM from the hostel.

 From Charles Bridge

Somewhere close to Starometska station

After the walk I went to the hostel and waited for the tour. The guide was David, a nice Czech guy who loved marathons and went from Denmark to Morocco by bike. I went to the office first to pay the remaining part of the tour which was around 540 Czech crowns. After that we went walking to the station and picked a train to Kutna Hora which arrived at around 1 PM. We had to transfer to a small train and we went to see the Bone church for 15 minutes, it was such a small church but quite scary hahaha

After the visit it was around 2 PM so the tour brought us by bus to a restaurant called Pivnice Dacicky where I had a spicy goulash and a beer which cost me around 200 Czech Crowns. Such a big deal, cheap and delicious. I shared table with a Norwegian couple, two Aussie girls an a Dutch girl.

We were eating and talking stuff about traveling. At nearly 3 PM we left the place walking to a replica of Charles Bridge and Santa Barbara cathedral, we visited both and took some nice pictures around there and at around 4 PM we went back to the station to come back to Prague.

Finally we took a train at around 16 15 and arrived 17 30 in Prague main Station. I went to buy a padlock because I lost the one I already had for my luggage.

After this I went walking back to the hostel and went to a Copy shop to print my plane ticket back to Barcelona. Once I had it printed I went to the hostel and had vegetarian dinner at the restaurant. After dinner I rest and I went to Charles Bridge to try take night pictures, I took some and a Korean girl requested me to help her so I lend her my tripod and helped her taking some pictures for a while, when it was 9 30 PM I had to leave and I went back to the hostel to rest for a while because the next day I have to pick a bus at 8 25 at the station.
