Day 5: 4d August

So the bus departed yesterday at 11 25 from Krakow main station and I am heading to Prague, the bus stops in Katowice and Brno before arriving at 6 50 at Florenc bus station in Prague. The trip was ok, the seats a bit narrow but you cannot expect more for 10 € trip for 7 hours, it's way cheaper than train which costs at least 60 €.

So at 6 50 I arrived Florenc station. I tried to buy a subway ticket but I did not have Czech crowns and the machined did not allow credit card so I had to walk from Florenc station to the hostel where I stay Hostel Prague Tyn, it was a 15 min walk with my lugagge. I arrived there and the staff allowed me to leave the lugagge in the luggage room.

He recommended me to visit Charles Bridge and the castle because at that time it was not crowded.

Charles Bridge

So that's what I did, I went to Charles bridge to take some pictures, I went uphill to the castle and the cathedral, the Golden Lane, etc.

On my way to Prague Castle

I had to wait until 9 AM to buy tickets, thanks god they allowed me to use my VISA, because I still had not any Czech currency.

Once I had the ticket I visited the cathedral and the Golden lane, etc.

 Prague Castle

Once finished I headed to exchange some currency, around 400 €  in czech crown  in EXCHANGE, they gave me 10.240 like 25.60 per €, such a good deal, it is a place near Kaprova street, in one side of Old Town Square.

Prague Castle

After the visit to the Castle I went back to the hostel, it was around 11 30 AM, the room was not ready but they allowed me to have a shower to refresh myself. After the shower I went to the Astronomical Clock which was close to Old Town Square. Once I took the photos and saw the clock ring I went to the Powder Tower which was also 5 min from the hostel, right in Celetna street, one of the main streets of Prague.

From there I went to take some pictures in the tower.

From Powder Tower

Once finished the shots in the Powder Tower I went lunch to a restaurant called Maitrea, they had a good daily menu with soup of pear and potato and Moussaka with eggplant. I ordered and extra of Appel Strudle for desser, after that I went to Namesty Republikyi which is the main shopping area for a walk and then straight up to Mustek and Museum area where there is a shopping bulevard with a sculpture of Wenceslao at the top of the boulevard.

Bouleavrd of Wenceslao Square

Once I finished my walk I went to the main station to buy a bus ticket for Cesky Krumlov on Sunday 6th at 8:25 with LEO Express company, the bus station was close to Wenceslao Square.

After getting my bus ticket I went to the hostel, checked in and paid for a tour the next day to Kutna Hora and had a long nap since I did not sleep well in the bus. I met a pair of Mexican siblings in the hostel. At around 7 PM I woke up and went to Namestyi Square Albert Supermarket to grab some beers. Then I had dinner in a vegetarian restaurant right next to the hostel which was delicious and cheap. After that I decided to bring my camera and tripod to shoot pictures at night at Charles Bridge, once I arrived I realized I forgot the battery which was been charged in the room so I had to quit taking pictures, I could only take one of Old Town Square. Finally in the lounge I met two Argenitinians and the Mexican siblings and we were chatting and drinking until 00 00. Time to go to bed.
